The new FLEXmax 100 AFCI relies on a dual-algorithm arc fault detection system. This system is certified to the latest UL 1699B requirements for installation in NEC 2017 territories. To eliminate the chance of false arc fault nuisance tripping, OutBack recommends isolating the negative PV conductor. OutBack’s updated FLEXpower systems and GSLC load centers will reflect this new methodology. This webinar serves to help explain how and why the FM100 AFCI moves from a common negative bus with PV negative, to isolated PV negative conductors.
