I like that you' ve managed to generalise the terms ofmakes life easier for everyone, because, as you know, these vary to some extent from country to country. A well thought out and well presented video. I am fortunate to own what has been termed as a high speed conversion, amotor cruiser, and a smuggler' s cruiser. I' m notabout the latter, not being a smuggler. In fact, my boat is a former fast gunboat, ex royal navy) which i' ve had for many years and upon which i have recently carried out a major refit that includes full electric propulsion. boat configurations is great i always liked the flybridge motoryacht with big working cockpit in the back. My flybridge is 3 season enclosed with aircon, day-head so pilot doesn' t need to pee into a coffee can, but not a full flavored social area (respects that job of the pilot is to concentrate 100% on piloting, but comfortably, enjoying that job) it' s fine that there is a lower pilot station, but i really don' t focus on that. Haha it' s like the starship can be operated transferring bridge command console to engineering, but themanagement is " the bridge"
also, big accessible working cockpit on the back and my flybridge has video monitoring of activity on the whole transom, so the pilot/captain can detect and address problems down there. ...Expand 1

@mothdoc3 years ago I think you should do aabout terms on a yacht like ~ head/s - origin, definition etc, to get you started: a bimmy, portuguese bridge, pilot house versus wheel house versus bridge(all really the same, but if i ever get my super yacht it will be bridge more to do with ww2 navy movies than star trek) lazarette, passerelle, the biter end, bla, bla, bla. ok, ok, i love the hair victoria, a mix of my two styles, to long & i still want a 45m plus motor yacht, boat, trawler, punt vessel! That' s a super version please. 5/6 crew, 4 staterooms plus mine. 3/5m new to me. Room for my jewellery studio, not so much a party boat as a get away & chill vessel. No, #39; yes sir/ no sir crap, more democratic than that. No hot & cold running chamber maids.
