We have been feeding grape jelly to Orioles and other birds for a number of years now. We started out with a DIY feeder that a friend gave us. If it hadn't have been for her, we probably would have never given it a try, and missed out on many hours of enjoyment. In this video, I will show you how to make a very simple homemade Oriole feeder that I think just about anyone can make. I put drain holes in this one, but those are actually optional. The whole DIY Oriole feeder consists of just baling wire and a single deli cup. One thing I should note is that even though they will eat out of this deli cup, a shallow one will work better. Making your own Oriole feeder is a great way to give it a tray without spending any money at all if you happen to already have baling wife, a deli cup, and some grape jelly. Once you get Orioles to come to your grape jelly, they should return year after year.
