Rem was born in the demon clan (oni clan) with her twin sister Ram. Rem and Ram were the only survivors from the Witch Cult attack. Roswaal Mathers took the twins in when they were 8 years old. Rem and Ram offered themselves to serve him after having no place to go. Subaru eventually joins these two maids after getting close to Emilia in the Royal candidate selection. Rem is a demon maid in Re:Zero. She is blessed with a Divine Protection of Water. This enabled her to use water magic skills, including low tier healing machine and offense magic. Rem’s weapon of choice is the Morning Start wrecking ball. Rem uses her MorningStart in her demon mode form to maximize damage on her enemies (and sometimes on Subaru). ReZero Author Tappei Nagatsuki has given Rem fans their wish. ReZero got a Rem what if story about Rem and Subaru running away together. The Re:Zero Author added a new chapter to this on Rem’s birthday February 2nd. Rem is voiced by Inori Minase. Re:Zero Rem OVA coming soon!
