Thank you for taking some time for yourself and relaxing #withme ♥ __________________________________________________________ SOCIAL MEDIA: 💜 Podcast: /channel/UCxmpYSpJ7255q0b4VCTBt5Q 💜 Discord: https://discord.gg/pkshzRn 💜 Twitter: https://twitter.com/misssykeology 💜 Twitch: https://www.twitch.tv/misssykeology 💜 Etsy: https://www.etsy.com/shop/MissSykeology 💜 Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/misssykeology 💜 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/misssykeology 💜 Shorts Channel: /channel/UCe6wCXepcsijxFcnoyH2vOA __________________________________________________________ Partial Transcript - I’m going to take you through a couple of different meditations I’ll give you some options that can help you fall right to sleep Of course, the most common, the cliché way to drift off is to count sheep If you’re using this method, you just picture every identical fluffy, soft, white sheep Almost cloud like and they are single file, jumping over a fence Because it is so mundane, so boring to watch them jump over and over, always the same, Your mind will lose interest and you’ll stop worrying about everything else Just as you stop worrying about the sheep…pretty effective But I think we can do quite a bit better The next thing that is lovely to imagine, it’s something that really helps me when I’m struggling to fall asleep… it’s to go bit by bit up your body, essentially turning off each body part in turn one by one You might start with your toes, you could curl and uncurl them, and then feel the relaxation spread through your feet You might give your ankles a little roll and let your feet drift out to sea so to speak, not that you’re losing them haha, just piece by piece they are moving into an oasis of relaxation And you can gradually picture body part by body part up and up and up, how you feel yourself become more and more at ease, increasingly relaxed until you reach your shoulders, your neck And finally the whole of your body is absolutely at peace and you are ready for bed I have just two more for you…if you’re still with me If you’ve not fallen asleep yet, I commend you hehe The next little exercise you can do, the next sweet sleepy strategy is to feel yourself sinking into a bed of feathers – you’ve lain your body down on something so impossibly soft, you are so warm, and while you are supported on all sides you feel how you slowly, slowly settle into the bed of feathers It feels incredibly soft from every angle and someone who you trust appears and they have an incredible, deliciously warm blanket for you…they’re going to start at your toes and they’re just going to lift, lift, lift the blanket up and up and up…just grazing the skin of your shins, bringing it pat your knees, delicately trailing the blanket up your hips, over your abdomen, up and up and up The blanket traces across your chest and up to your clavicle and there it settles, this warm, this weighted blanket, both supportive to your body and applying very very gentle pressure down to keep you comfortably resting in place, to let you stay cozy and tucked The final little trick that I have for you, for any stragglers who’ve yet to fall asleep, I know just what to do I know just what to do :) I’m going to have you recount your day in your mind Walk yourself through what sort of soup you used in the shower Remind yourself what you ate for breakfast and the song that you listened as you were getting ready for work or school Remind yourself, gently recall what you did in your free time today Trace down all those details and almost like magic, your brain will get tired of the exercise And as you keep tracing back through the details, as you recount your whole day to yourself, slowly, slowly your eyes will close, your head will relax on your pillow, and you will drift off to sleep, sleep, sleep Sleep well, my friend.
