The executive summary is for top-level managers who may make a decision based upon the executive summary alone. As a result, the executive summary must be concise but comprehensive; it must present in summary form all major sections of the main report in condensed format. The major sections of an executive summary are: Purpose, Findings, and Recommendations sections. The Recommendations sections of the executive summary usually contains only 1-2 sentences followed by a bullet list of the recommendations.
